Dry-Ice

It goes on as a liquid, but quickly evaporates leaving a very slippery microscopic lubricating particulant.

BVM uses Dry-Ice to lube the screw shafts on all of our electric landing gear actuators.  After a few flying sessions on a wet grass field, we had a problem with a pneumatic nose gear on our 80" Sabre.  It just would not retract, even with a full 100+ PSI air charge.   We turned the model over, applied  few drops of Dry-Ice to the mechanical actuating parts (not the cylinder) and almost immediately, the nose retract unit would cycle 5 times on an air charge.  It works on metallic and non-metallic components.   Dry-Ice is a handy product to keep things working!
