Some jets just don't fit into the Midwest model stand, as good as it is. We encountered this problem with the Rafale and F-4. Their fuselages are too wide and now, with the F-100, its wing chord is too wide. The "one size fits all" concept just doesn't work with jets, so, we decided to design a series of model holding devices specific to each of our jets that would be convenient to use in the shop, on the road and at the field. For shop use we suggest setting the "Jet Cradle" on a small adjustable height table (available at office supply stores for about $30.00). This will place the model at the most comfortable height and give you easy access all around it.
There are 7 different cradles available to fit each of the following BVM Jets; the Rafale, F-4 Phantom, T-33/F-80, F-100, MiG-15, Bandit and the "500 cradle". The 500 cradle is designed to accomodate the F-16, Sabre Jet, or Maverick. Each unit is uniquely designed to allow you to work on your model upright or bottom side up - a great help when assembling or gearing it up.

You can carry the model in the cradle and easily push it into the back of your vehicle and then pull it out at the flying field.
The stands are made from 1/4" thick very dense particle board. Each stand comes complete with all necessary hardware and is very quick to assemble because of the tongue and slot design, even the screw holes are pre-drilled for you.
Notice that the inside tray is seperated into 3 sections to help you group tools and parts as you work.
We used a Rust-Oleum, hammered metal finish spray can paint for our sample, but almost any kind of finish could be applied. Some modelers will spend some extra effort applying a nice automotive type of paint and trick it out with artwork.
We think you will find these cradles to be an indispensable convenience item. The metal corners and handle hardware is included.

This rubber edge trim lasts longer and better protects your model. It is now standard with all Jet Cradle kits and can be retrofitted to earlier units. A 4ft section is sufficient to fit.
