The inclusion of an air shock absorbing mechanism
into a spring action, scale looking strut is new in
the model airplane arena and its no coincidence that
BVM did it first. The air shock action gives us a
strut that minimizes bounce on landing and generally
smooths out take-off and landing rolls. This is most
evident during grass field or rough runway
operations. The air shock feature requires that the
anti-torque links be manufactured exceptionally
strong and accurate, and BVM's are. They are
precision cast from beryllium copper and then hand
fitted. The outside strut must be hardened and
precision honed to fit an equally precision ground
and nickel plated inner strut. These parts fit like
a piston and cylinder in your engine. We then add an
internal "O" ring to insure an airtight seal. The
aluminum castings are designed for function and
scale appearance, and the main gear struts are
equipped with strut door holding bosses - even
provisions for routing brakes lines have been
accommodated. There is a Duro-Strut to fit your
modern BVM jet and BVM retract unit, and you can be
sure that we have flight tested each design
thoroughly before releasing the product. Check out
the dimensions below and you may find that they
probably can be adapted to one of your other models. |
