"Ultimate
Air Trap" (U.A.T.)
A BVM Exclusive
U.A.T. Update - hints/tips on first time usage
We now have well over 500 flights on
various factory demo models that use the U.A.T. We tried every possible
maneuver and unusual attitude combined with every possible throttle position -
you just can't make it quit!
All BVM fuel cell packages (for BVM jets) now come
standard with a U.A.T.
The mystery material, duck bill
shaped sack inside will deliver a solid stream of fuel (no bubbles) to the fuel
pump even if the 4oz bottle should get 3/4th's full of air, which is very
unlikely.
This is a very
high quality product for those turbine pilots who want to eliminate the
possibility of an air bubble causing a flame out. The U.A.T. is placed in
series between the last fuel tank and the fuel pump. The system is filled
through the 3rd line in the U.A.T.
The rectangular shaped tank can be mounted vertically or
horizontally and produce the same results making it convenient to fit into just
about any model and it will work with any model size turbine engine.
MORE GREAT NEWS ABOUT THE U.A.T.
The U.A.T. is also a great filter
eliminating the need for another filter and its two connections in the
system.
The fuel "in"
nipples are custom machined from brass for a very snug fit to the 6mm urethane
fuel line. The fuel "out" connection is a Festo compression fitting.
Another super advantage of adding a
U.A.T. to your fuel system is that all of the fuel in your other tanks is now
completely usable, (assuming the clunks can reach it).
Formerly if we had a 16oz header
tank installed you couldn't count on using the last 8oz - now you can. Don't
plan on it, but 3oz of the 4oz in the U.A.T. is also usable.
The U.A.T. may also be used with
gasoline engines. Developer Jeff Seymour has been flying one in a large gas
powered model for some time. U.A.T.'s should work with any pump equipped
engine. It has not been tested in a ducted fan installation.
Here is a recent letter from a Mike Danchak, a customer from Texas that informed us on the use of the U.A.T. on a glow engine.

We think that this is one of those
"very significant" developments that come along only occoasionally in model
airplane technology. Congratulations to Jeff Seymour of S.W.B.
The unit comes completely assembled
and ready to install in your jet.
Retail price is $65.95.
