BVM VioFan

A new level of fan performance

BVM took a fresh look at the Viojett, the best fan design on the market, and made it even better.

Fine tuning the air flow around the engine and exhaust pipe and making better use of the cooling air yielded a more efficient power system.

Part of the refinement process was accomplished by radial mounting the engine with the four tapped holes that are in the front of the crankcase in the BVM .91s and the new Special Edition .96. Yes, the engine lugs are still there but the fiberglass centerbody now wraps around the lower part of the case and cleverly covers them from the high velocity slipstream. This fairing is retained by the "S" rod and with a special aluminum collar attached to the silencer pipe - it will not blow off.

The upper cylinder fairing is now actually two parts, molded as one, that provides internal cooling air ducting and external air flow streamlining behind the engine cylinder. It is attached to the engine access cover and tucks inside the flanges of the centerbody fairing for smooth uninterrupted air flow.

The thrust gain is obvious

The VIOFAN produces one pound more thrust than its predecessor (the Viojett) and is well suited for the new larger jets like the MiG-15, Bandit "V", F-80 and T-33.

Before production, BVM accomplished lots of bench testing with sensitive flow measuring instruments to really fine tune the design, then we installed it in a Bandit "V" and logged 92 flights to be sure it was mechanically sound.

You can now own the latest in fan propulsion perfection for $295.00.

Below are a few of pictures showing how the engine and fiberglass fairings mount to the new VIOFAN.
