Jet Wheel Designs & DimensionsWheel & Tire Tune Up | Oil-Lite Bushings
BVM
Wheel & Brake
Instructions Tune-Up
Lubricate the bushings.
The one piece wheel hubs
have Oil-Lite bushings pressed into each side. The gap between the bushings
should be packed with super lube grease (BVM #5784).
Practice has shown that most BVM wheels should be repacked about every 2 dozen
flights.
BVM Brake Adjustment

Besides using the Smooth Stop - fully proportional brake valve, the
stopping power can be adjusted by wiping the outer surface of the O-ring and
inner surface of the aluminum drum with Super O-lube
BVM #5779 for less braking action. For more braking action, dry these same
surfaces by wiping them with a soft cloth dampened with Acetone.
Once adjusted, the system
will remain stable for many landings.
O-ring Wear
We have never worn out a
braking O-ring on one of our factory prototype models - and we fly a lot. The
very simple and reliable O-ring brake is also very efficient and inexpensive to
operate.
BVM tires stay on the rims
We have never seen a tire
leave its rim when the 0-80 through bolts were installed. Besides looking good
(the bolt heads) they function extremely well. Of course it takes a little
effort to install them per the instructions, but the reliability gain is
certainly worthwhile.
BVM wheels and brakes have been proven in-the-field for several
years and you can bet that each new model wheel we introduce will be thoroughly
flight tested before we sell them.
F-100
brake sound
The F-100 wheels and
brakes are our latest. The Hun can land with the brakes preset and roll to an
absolutely straight stop in about 100ft if needed. As an extra bonus, they have
a truly scale sound, audible over the engine, upon braking application during
taxi.
