A Reborn F-16
photos by Joe Balabon

BVM previously manufactured a D/F powered F-16 complete with a scale and shock absorbing landing gear.

It was a high performance machine in its day with the Viojett and BVM .91 2 cycle glow engine.

This 12 year old example was converted to EVF power by Dave Malchione and looks and performs very impressively. Its power package is the BVM 5012 Super 12s Electric VioFan. The batteries are located where the fuel tanks used to be, the fan position is unchanged and connects to a BVM supplied laser cut mylar tailpipe.

Dave operates the Electric Flacon from a grassfield.

The NACA Inlets on each side (BVM# E2000-75) supply cooling air to the batteries.

2 additional 3/4" holes in the inlet duct aft of the batteries augments the cooling air flow for summertime operation.

A modular cockpit and canopy provide access to the batteries.

The EVF 5012 mounts exactly as the original Viojett but now uses a mylar thrust tube.

The EVF makes a clean and uncluttered installation.
