Since turbine models are free of vibration,
some of us have become lax in protecting the receiver. The old fashion method
of wrapping the receiver in foam also served to keep the crystal snugly in
place. It is
convenient to mount the receiver with Velcro tape, but at the very least, tape
the crystal in place. Our jets do experience vibration during vehicle transport and during
ground operations, i.e. taxi, takeoff and landing.
