Denver, Colorado
June 27-28, 1998

George Allison came from California to enjoy the Mile High Jet Rally in Denver, Colorado June 27,28. You can tell from the hat he is better known as "Scooby Doo" in the California Jet Association.
He owns many BVM Jets and took a shine to the new MiG-15 flown by B.V. at the event. The model was first powered by a VIOFAN and BVM .96. Then after 22 flights it was converted to RAM 750 power so that we could complete the instruction package on both systems. See below for more pics of this colorful MiG in the red "parade" paint scheme.

The factory prototype MiG-15 made its debut with RAM power at the Denver Jet Rally June 27,28. Operation from the mile high runway was no challenge to this high performance package. The loops are as big as you can see them. |

Lloyd McConnell flew this Maverick Pro many times at the rally, executing very large and graceful maneuvers. Lloyd has a pattern flying background - it was obvious. The BVM stuff seems to work well at altitude. The combination of 5400 ft above sea level and 90°+ temperatures produced density altitude exceeding 11,000 ft. |

There are lots of electrical wires, fuel, oil and pressure lines but the installation is really quite simple. The RAM instructions and BVM plans make it easy. The ECU, fuel pump and 5 cell 1400 MAH battery are stored up front. The Bypass tube (black with silver top cover plugs into the inlet and contains the RAM 750. The yellow fuel tank visible is one of three made exclusively for the MiG-15 and holds 3 liters of Jet A fuel. The Kevlar Safety Band encircles the turbine wheel area. The bypass air and engine hot exhaust gases mix in the stainless steel tail pipe which is shrouded in a thin aluminum augmentor tube. Results! A cool model with no loss of engine thrust. MiG kits will begin shipping 24 July 98. ![]() |
