YOUR TURBINE TRAINING

Fact #1
Turbine powered model aircraft are quite different.

Fact #2
The best way to protect your investment and safety and that of others is to receive one-on-one training from the BVM factory team or turbine qualified field representative.

Discussion
While there is nothing particularly difficult about installing and operating a turbine engine in a model, the equipment and procedures are completely different from conventional piston driven power units. The consequences of improper installation and operation are potentially more severe.

When you purchase a turbine powered model from BVM you receive a very comprehensive instruction packet - a lot to absorb. These instructions will allow you to properly assemble, gear up and get the model ready for flight if you have sufficient previous experience with ducted fan jets.

Therefore, BVM offers one-on-one training by factory trained personnel to include:

  • an introduction to the theory of turbo jet operation;
  • inspection of your finished and ready-for-flight BVM jet model;
  • demonstration of proper fueling/defueling procedures and compressed air tanks regulator operation (if required);
  • familiarization and use of CO2 fire bottle;
  • engine starting and shut down procedures with temperature monitoring;
  • taxi test of the model;
  • after all systems are "Go" the BVM rep will assist you on the first flight(s) of the model.

When?
When your model is absolutely finished and ready to fly and a date is mutually agreed upon.

Where?
At the BVM factory near Orlando, Florida, or at a Jet Fly that a qualified rep will be attending, or a time and place mutually agreed upon with a qualified rep. Currently, qualified reps live in California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Montana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

How Long?
Plan on one hour of theory, reviewing the written instructions and inspecting your model. One hour of fuel and fire bottle training. One hour of engine starting and throttle set-up training. Flight assistance will involve about two hours. These are approximate times and may vary depending on the trainee's experience and preparation.

Cost?
The cost for this service is $300.00 paid directly to the BVM representative for his time. By the time your turbine model is completed, you will have a sizable investment of time and money in it. This training and assistance is the best possible insurance you can buy for success and safety. The BVM factory team and our turbine qualified field reps have the experience and dedication to help you.
